Oct 2013 Trip to Vermont & Greenbrier
This was a trip to fulfill my bucket list of visiting all 50 of the U.S. State with Vermont & W.Virginia being the last two. We spent 3 nights in Burlington, Vermont @ a B & B which was enjoyable. We had dinner one evening at the historical Hotel Shelburne. We toured the Shelburne Farms one day which is on the shores of Lake Champlain. The Farm is a historical place & well known for the high quality of dairy products in particular high grade cheese products. We also toured the land locked vessel Ticonderoga as part of the tour in the Selburen Museum.
The second phase of our trip was a 4 night golf special @ The Greenbrier America's Resort in White Sulphur, W. Va. This s a spectacular facility with 500 gorgeous rooms & 5 golf courses. We played 3 of the golf courses & the hospitality was first class. We hope to make a return visit. The resort has any & everything including a casino is the lower level which 50 years ago was a bunker to provide an emergency safe haven for the President & Key Members of Congress in the event an uprising in Washington D.C.
